About the role
As a Data Engineer you will play a critical role in designing, building and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring efficient and accurate data processing, storage and retrieval.

- You will ideally have the following qualifications and skills:
- You have a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, ideally with a specialization in Data Engineering or DevOps, or a related field.
- You have gained initial experience as a Data Engineer in a production environment.
- Foundational notions in data modeling, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, optimization.
- Familiarity with the relevant tech skills mentioned above.
- Basic understanding of data pipelines, APIs, or backend services.
- Exposure to data engineering in the context of Agentic AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, or Business Intelligence across different types of data formats (structured vs unstructured) and processing methods.
- Passionate about working at the intersection of Climate Science and Data Engineering (tell us about relevant projects you’ve worked on!).
- A problem solver, a fixer, and a creative technologist. We believe coding is a talent and a passion, not just a skill.
- A strong communicator and a team player who can work efficiently with others, in a diverse, interdisciplinary and international team.
- Exceptional time management in a complex and largely autonomous work environment.
- Good communication skills in English
